Q: What is Pinemere Camp’s policy on Technology?
A: Pinemre is a screen free camp! Please see the Family Guide for a list of acceptable music devices. In the meantime, here are some great reasons that we have chosen to make Pinemere a Screen-Free environment:
  • Encourage our campers to spend more time enjoying the outdoors
  • Promote socialization between campers and teach important communication skills
  • Remove the divide between the “haves” and the “have-nots” in each bunk
  • Reduce the stress associated with the damage to and theft of electronics
  • Give campers a much needed break from the world of technology
  • Allow campers to fully embrace the connections they make with other campers
  • Assure that our campers are not exposed to age-inappropriate material

Q: How do you handle prescription medication?
A: Prescription Medications Prescribed During Camp Pinemere Camp participates in a medication Distribution Program for all medication that is to be dosed regularly at camp including daily over the counter and as needed medications. Participants who take daily meds MUST enroll in this service so that Pinemere's medical staff may distribute medication effectively throughout the season. You must also provide full information for ALL MEDICATIONS taken including over the counter and on an as-needed basis. Information regarding this service will be provided to all families prior to the camp season. All medications are distributed by our Health Center team of nurses and doctors.

Q: Do you require vaccinations?
A: Pinemere Camp is an engaging and social program in a residential setting. The health, safety and wellbeing of our entire camp community is extremely important and is a priority of Pinemere Camp. In line with the recommendations for standard of care by practicing pediatricians across the country and with Center for Disease Control (CDC), Pinemere Camp requires the age appropriate routine vaccination of all campers, staff and employees. Please see our Family Guide for additional details.

Q: Do you require vaccination for COVID-19?
A: We are still developing our full COVID-19 mitigation plan, including possible testing and masking requirements and limited off camp activities, but it’s way too early to determine those steps. However, we have made the decision to require all campers and staff to be fully vaccinated (i.e., at least two doses) for Covid-19. We recognize that individuals with specific medical conditions might not be able to receive certain vaccines. Please contact Eytan at Eytan@Pinemere.com if you have questions concerning our medical exemption process.

Q: Is there a bus to camp?
A: Pinemere only offers transportation to/from camp from the Rockville, MD area.
